38 Weeks and all's well...

Hanne was able to attend the last OB appointment with me today...  yippeee!!

She got to witness what "typical, boring and routine" was all about...  and ask questions of Dr. E one last time before Little Boy Blue is born.

At the end of the appointment, Dr. E says we're going to do your NST now.
My what?
Your NST.  You are over 40.
{Well, no kidding.}  I've never had one before, why now?
Because you're over 40.
And you think I'm stressed?  the baby's stressed?

Ok.  Then fine then.  Off we go to the little NST room.  To amuse the doctor.  They want to measure his heart rate and movements.

Well, guess what...  he's napping.

We all had a nice lunch an hour before and he's content.  So we wait.  And he sleeps.  No movements for me to record (after the little guy was almost non-stop for the previous 24 hours, mind you).  She pokes her head back in and says, "well, wake him up" and so I do.  I'm not sure what HE thinks about being woken from slumber, let alone his mother who is witnessing all of this from a chair at the foot of mine.

So, after another 5-10 minutes, she comes back in and says "he's healthy, you're done".  I guess he moved enough for her in those last 10 minutes to make the NST worthwhile.  What a hoot.  So now I can officially say I've also been through at least one NST in my pregnancies.

6 more wake-ups!!
